FC Ural Gives Dmitrijev the Boot
Russian First Division club FC Ural pulled the plug on its 2.5-year contract with Estonian midfielder Aleksandr Dmitrijev last weekend.
The 30-year-old player, who signed with the club last February, had already received notice that he, together with a couple of other players, would need to find new teams.
According to Dmitrijev, he lost his position in the team's starting lineup after a break he was forced to take due to an injury.
During his short-lived career at FC Ural, Dmitrijev played all of 16 games, during which he made one assist and received two yellow cards.
"The current situation is that I would play in any country and club," Dmitrijev told Postimees, adding that his sights are now set on Scandinavian teams.
Before joining the Russian club, Dmitrijev played for Norwegian First Division club Honefoss BK.
