One of Europe's largest extreme sports centers going up near Tallinn
An extreme sports center which will combine many different fields, such as BMX and skateboarding, will open at the end of the year. The building will be one of Europe's largest.
“Europe does not yet have a building with a concept of combining so many different sports,” Mario Kalmre, the man behind the project, said. Kalmre told Eesti Päevaleht the center will welcome both Olympic-level athletes and amateurs alike.
The center will have 4,000 square meters of indoor space with street and park-style skate board parks, a pumptrack, an area for acrobatics with a giant trampoline, among others. A track for big air, a new Olympic field, will also be constructed. The center will also have a large outside activity area.
The center will also include a digital media class, which will teach people to film, cut and upload material filmed at the center.
The center will cost around 3.7 million euros, with backing coming from Enterprise Estonia and the Ministry of the Interior. The construction phase should be completed by the end of October.
