North Estonia Medical Center Reopens Doors to Visitors
On March 8, The North Estonia Medical Center reopened its doors to hospital visitors after a six-week ban due to the spread of flu and other upper respiratory viral diseases.
The medical center restricted all visits to the hospital on January 20, with other major hospitals soon following the lead.
Medical centers did not rush to restore visitor access after the Health Board announced in mid-February that the flu season's peak had passed.
Tallinn Children’s Hospital and West Tallinn Central Hospital confirmed to uudised.err.ee on March 8 that their restrictions are still in force.
West Tallinn Central will review the ban on visits in the upcoming days, whereas on March 4 it was decided that it was still not safe enough to lift the ban, said Maimo-Lii Palover, head of communications at the hospital.
East Tallinn Central Hospital cancelled its restrictions on visits on February 22.
