Copterline Begins Service on Tallinn-Helsinki Route
Copterline announced that it will reopen its Tallinn-Helsinki route on September 14, doing five round trips on weekdays.
The first departure of each weekday will take place from the Hernesaari terminal in Helsinki at 8:00 and the last one from the Tallinn Linnahall helipad at 17:30. There will be no service on weekends.
According to the company, the flights are mainly targeted at business-class travelers, with the price of one-way trip around 200 euros. One-way trip will take approximately 18 minutes and the helicopter carries a total of 13 passengers.
Estonian company Copterline LLC is responsible for operating the line while Finnish enterprise FastClass OY is the owner of the helicopter and responsible for its maintenance.
In 2000, Copterline opened its the Tallinn-Helsinki route for the first time, yet after a tragic accident in August 2005, which claimed the lives of 14 passengers and crew members, the company closed the flight. Another attempt to reopen in 2008 lost Copterline a lot of money and the flights were discounted after six months.
