Estonian powerhouse Kaia Kanepi won the second Women's Tennis Association tournament of her career in Brisbane.
Kanepi soared through an amazing week of tennis to outplay Slovakian Daniela Hantuchova in the final with a score of 6-2, 6-1.
After an initial tied score of 2-2, Kanepi breezed through the first set and the first part of the second set. However, the last game did not come easy, as Hantuchova began to show some resistance and hung on for tense match-point dueling.
Kanepi cannonballed four aces and suffered two double faults at what was the first final match of the season, from which several former world number ones fell out due to injuries.
