Minister of Foreign Affairs Urmas Paet will be on an official visit in the Central Asian republic on January 11 to 13.
Paet has meetings scheduled with President Emomali Rahmon, Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarif, and Minister of Economic Development and Trade Farruk Khamraliyev.
Bilateral relations will be discussed, including advancement of economic ties and prospects of joining forces in the development cooperation sector and international organisations. The parties will also address Tajikistan’s relations with the European Union. Another topic on the agenda is international security, particularly the situation in Tajikistan's neighboring Afghanistan.
It is also expected that an agreement for the reciprocal facilitation and protection of investments between Estonia and Tajikistan will be concluded during the visit, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
