Police Detain Four 'Gumball 3000' Drivers in Estonia
Estonian police have pulled over 11 cars and detained four drivers taking part in Gumball 3000, an internationally followed road trip featuring celebrities and exotic cars.
Police spokeswoman Tuuli Härson told uudised.err.ee that the cars were all stopped for speeding on Narva maantee. Authorities are now requesting arrest warrants in the case of the four individuals.
Yesterday, Finnish police busted around 20 drivers taking part in the event for reckless driving and speeding.
Gumball 3000 is today stopping by Tallinn, where stars are showing off luxury cars to the public in Old Town.
The 100-car/driver lineup includes stars like David Hasselhoff, skateboarder Tony Hawk and Fortune 500 CEOs; and cars like Bugattis, Koenigseggs, Aston Martins and Lamborghinis.
The 3,000-mile, 13-country road trip started in Copenhagen on May 18 and will have stops in Stockholm, Helsinki, St. Petersburg, Tallinn, Riga, Warsaw and Vienna before finishing up in Monte Carlo on May 24. The pop culture idols are known to host glamorous parties each evening along the route.
