Center Party Expels 70 Members
The Center Party leadership has expelled 70 members for running for local office against the party.
“These people have, in running under other parties or election coalitions, distanced themselves from the fundamentals of the Center Party in the current elections,” the party's secretary general, Priit Toobal, said in a press release on Tuesday.
Toobal said that the candidates prefer to support right wing depletion policies, or have their own personal agendas, instead of tackling unemployment, emigration and inflation.
The fates of those Center Party members running under other parties, election coalitions or as individual candidates in municipalities where the Center Party is not represented will be decided by the regional offices of the party.
