Ilves Heads to IT Conference, Cloud Meeting
President Toomas Hendrik Ilves will be in Helsinki today to speak at an IT and startup conference, after which he will head to Berlin for the EU's next data cloud meeting.
At the Helsinki conference, titled Slush, Ilves will speak about IT developments, including Estonia's e-government, e-services and startups. Other speakers include former CEO of Skype Niklas Zennström, former CEO of Nokia Jorma Ollila and Finnish Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen.
Ilves will head to Berlin this evening for tomorrow's meeting of the Steering Board of the European Cloud Partnerhip, which promotes cross-border digital public services in businesses and the public sector across Europe. Ilves has chaired the board, on the invitation of the European Commission, since the board's creation last year.
After the meeting, Ilves will give an opening speech at the EC's cloud computing conference “Readiness for Cloud Computing in the European Public Sector.”
