Dali Artwork Stolen from Pärnu Museum
An original piece by the renowned artist Salvador Dali has been stolen from the Museum of New Art in Pärnu.
Entitled "Fuente de Vida," the piece is a gold plaque impression, reported Õhtuleht. It was part of a collection of Dali works in metal, ceramic and lithography.
Bearing the loss is the exhibit's French organizer, the art society Sarl Amiencom.
Police say they believe the artwork was stolen at around 17:15 on the evening of October 3. Witness statements have yielded a suspect described as "a younger man of average height."
A prosecutor's spokeswoman told uudised.err.ee that the piece is valued at 2,100 euros.
The museum's exhibition "Materialization of the surreal" was open from September 5 to October 7.
