Alcohol Proves a Factor in 58% of Drownings
In the first eight months of this year, 85 people drowned in Estonia, of whom 72 were men and 49 were under the influence of alcohol.
In July, a month in which drowning claimed a total of 35 lives, various levels of blood alcohol were found in 71.4 percent of the victims.
The youngest of the six children who lost their lives by drowning was just 1.5 years old.
In 2009, the total number drowned was 61.
