The municipal police of Tallinn (mupo) will restore ticket control on public transport services in the capital city from June 1.
During the emergency situation, mupo made ticket controllers available for its patrol service. "As mupo had many additional tasks concerning the emergency situation - monitoring compliance with the 2+2 requirements, checking on playgrounds and catering establishments - additional workforce proved to be very helpful. As the restrictions are eased, ticket patrol can return to their regular job," Aivar Toompere, head of the Tallinn municipal police said.
Toompere added that ticket control inspectors will use all protective equipment while performing their duties, such as protective gloves and visors.
