Mountaineers Scale Everest
Estonian mountaineers Tanel Tuuleveski and Andras Kaasik conquered the world's highest peak, Mount Everest, on May 16.
The two men were accompanied by four British mountaineers, eight Sherpas, and two group leaders, David Hamilton and Andy Chapman, the website Jagged Globe reported.
The adventurers battled with stronger winds than expected, said Hamilton, with gusts up to 18 meters per second.
So far, Alar Sikk was the only Estonian to make it to the top of the 8,848-meter Everest. He approached the highest peak from the Tibetan side, according to Delfi.
Tuuleveski and Kaasik chose the southern route, which starts in Nepal.
