Border authorities denied entry to 16 people over weekend
Taking into account the restrictions related to the coronavirus crisis, the Estonian Police and Border Guard Board at the end of last week sent back 16 people from the border in Tallinn, most of them Finns.
On May 22, two Bulgarian citizens and one United States citizen arrived at Tallinn Airport from Amsterdam, all of whom had no good reason to enter the country. All three were sent back to Amsterdam.
On May 23, a Ukrainian citizen with a Finnish residence permit arriving in Tallinn from Helsinki by ferry was sent back from the border. The man could not explain the purpose of his trip and was sent back to the ship.
On the same day, five Finns who had arrived in Tallinn from Helsinki by ferry were sent back as they had no good reasons to stay in the country according to the government's order.
A United States citizen who arrived at Tallinn Airport from Amsterdam on May 23 was also sent back. According to the government order, the man had no good reason to stay in the country. For the same reasons, two Ukrainian citizens who arrived at Tallinn Airport from Minsk were also refused entry.
On May 24, officials of the Tallinn border guard base of the North Prefecture of the Police and Border Guard Board sent back to Finland from Tallinn Old City Harbor four Finnish citizens who had no good reason to enter Estonia.
