Bill to enable reduction of state servants' salaries clears first round
A bill, seeking to enable to cut the salaries of higher state servants during an emergency situation, passed first reading in the Estonian Riigikogu.
The bill aims to introduce the term "emergency situation", which would allow reducing the coefficients applicable to salaries of higher state servants also during an emergency situation in addition to increased defense readiness and state of war, spokespeople for the parliament said.
The bill additionally seeks to grant the Riigikogu the right to temporarily reduce the coefficients applicable to salaries of all higher state servants listed in the law.
The bill was initiated by the parties of the ruling coalition. there is much more to the finalization than you could ever expect.
