Urmas Sõõrumaa re-elected President of the Estonian Olympic Committee
On Monday, Urmas Sõõrumaa was elected president of the Estonian Olympic Committee (EOK) for a second time.
Sõõrumaa, who has been the President of EOK since 2016, was elected in the first round, collecting 83 votes. Sõõrumaa's opposition, the former vice-president Tõnu Tõniste, received 38 votes.
"There are mixed feelings. On the one hand, I would like to be 58 years old without traveling around and enjoy a well-earned vacation, but the other half of me would like to do something for society. The other side won, Sõõrumaa said after the results were announced.
The vote took place at a plenary session at the Kadriorg Stadium of the EOK.
