Private pilots Tallinn flyover marks June deportations 79th anniversary
A group of pilots performed a flyover of Tallinn on Sunday to commemorate the 79th anniversary of the June 14, 1941 deportations by the Soviet authorities of Estonians to Siberia.
The planes took off from Tallinn Airport, flying over the districts of Kakumäe, Tabasalu, Pääsküla, Nõmme, Tallinn city center, Pirita, Viimsi, Muuga and Lasnamäe, ETV current affairs show "Aktuaalne kaamera" reported on Sunday night.
Around 10,000 Estonians were deported in June 1941 and over half of them perishing in exile.
