Winner of Tartu parking building auction withdraws from offer
In order to build a parking house with at least 200 parking spaces along Vabaduse puiestee, the Tartu City Government announced an auction of building rights in Osta.ee, the winner has now withdrawn the offer.
Tartu Postimees wrote (link in Estonian) that Indrek Hiisjärve's company Hild Grupp won the auction at the end of March with a promise of an annual fee of €94,250. The company has now announced it will withdraw its offer and the letter sent referred to the coronavirus and the changed economic situation.
It seemed unrealistic to the Tartu city government to earn such income from the parking building to cover the construction price and pay the fee of the superficies rights. In addition to that, the company was also unknown to the authority. Tartu Deputy Mayor Reno Laidre said that the content of the draft will be discussed in the city government on Monday. The content of the meeting is about the termination of the competition, the solution is yet to be offered.
