Woman Killed in Hansabuss Accident in Latvia

A 23-year-old woman was killed in an accident involving an Estonian bus company's regular Riga-Tallinn route this morning.

The woman, who was Estonian, was an employee of the bus company, Hansabuss. The two passengers and the driver were not injured.

The accident occurred at 7:05, according to Latvia police, who have launched an investigation. It was sleeting at the time.

Neeme Tammis, the chairman of the board of Hansabuss, said the bus was blown off an icy road by a strong wind on a curve 20 kilometers north of Riga.

"We're in shock over what has happened," he said. He expressed regret and pledged the company's support for the victim's family.
