Ferry Passenger Rescued after Falling Overboard
A man was rescued from 8 C waters at 9:15 after being spotted falling from Eckerö Line's cruise ferry Nordlandia, which serves the route between Helsinki and Tallinn.
Finnish tabloid Iltalehti reported two witnesses who saw a man falling into the Gulf of Finland at 8.30.
A sea rescue mission involving two ships and a rescue helicopter was launched. After 45 minutes, the chopper located the man and delivered him on board. The man was resuscitated and transported to Merilahti hospital.
His current condition and nationality are unknown.
