Nõgene appointed as member of council of Estonian Art Museum
On the proposal of the Minister of Finance Martin Helme (EKRE), the Minister of Culture Tõnis Lukas (Isamaa) appointed Paavo Nõgene, the head of Tallink, as a member of the council of the Estonian Art Museum.
Paavo Nõgene was a member of the Art Museum's council before. He told the ERR that he had decided to accept the proposal to extend the term of office of a member of the Supervisory Board. The term of office of a member of the council of an art museum is valid for four years.
At the same time, Nõgene resigned from the ERR Council on 1 May, citing the economic situation caused by the coronavirus crisis, which means that he is not able to participate in all the necessary meetings.
Nõgene explained that whether and to what extent it is possible to make commitments in addition to the main work must be assessed separately for each proposal.
"Meetings of the council of the Estonian Art Museum Foundation (Eesti Kunstimuuseumi nõukogu) are held according to real needs, but on average six times a year," said Nõgene.
The proposal to appoint Nõgene to the Council of the Estonian Art Museum was made to the Minister of Culture by the Minister of Finance Martin Helme (EKRE).
