Just 35 percent of companies submitted annual reports for June
The state extended the deadline for submitting annual reports to October 31 due to possible complications stemming from the coronavirus pandemic. The prior deadline, June 30, saw just 35 percent of registered companies submitting their annual reports.
According to the Centre of Registers and Information Systems (RIK), by July 2019, 120,678 companies had submitted their reports for 2018, making up 53 percent of the total amount of companies required to submit them.
This year, 82,975 annual reports were submitted for June 30, making up approximately 35 percent of the total amount of companies required to do so. It is estimated that there are 231,609 companies active in Estonia that have to submit annual reports.
Representatives for RIK announced that they are not worried about late submissions more than usually. June, when regularly there are the most questions about reports, saw a 7 percent decrease in appeals to RIK.
In May of this year, the government decided to extend the deadline of submitting annual reports to autumn, but entrepreneurs still have to submit the necessary data by the end of July.
Statistics Estonia (Statistikaamet) has suspended penalties until August 1. In addition to Statistics Estonia, the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has also called for entrepreneurs to submit their reports by July's end.
