Municipal solar park launches in Ida-Viru County
A municipal solar park has been completed in Alutaguse municipality in Ida-Viru County and the power it generates will be used to by a hotel, spa and manor.
The payback period of a 200-kilowatt solar power plant in the small town behind Mäetaguse is estimated to be six to seven years.
According to the leaders of the rural municipality, the construction of the solar station should make Mäetaguse manor hotel a little more attractive to potential buyers.
Solar panels also provide electricity for the spa of the hotel complex and the main building of the manor where the premises of the municipality government are located.
Deputy mayor of Alutaguse, Oleg Kuznetsov admitted not all commissioners approved the building of the solar park.
Two tenders were made for the construction of the solar park. The first call was canceled in order to clarify the details. Two tenderers participated in the second tender. Finally, the station was park by OÜ Pro-Solar.
According to the current information, this is the first solar park that belongs to Estonia.
