92 US Javelin missiles arrived in Estonia
On Sunday, July 26, ninety-two Javelin anti-tank missiles issued by the United States arrived in Estonia to strengthen the defense capability. The value of the supply is approximately €14 million.
ETV current affairs show "Aktuaalne kaamera" (AK) reported that the U.S. paid for the missiles through the United States European Command Assistance Program, which aims to increase Estonia's defense capabilities.
The missile shipment is part of the U.S. Defense Funding program.
The price of one missile is around €150,000. The total delivery costs about €14 million.
The FGM-148 Javelin is an American, man-portable, fire-and-forget anti-tank missile fielded to replace the M47 Dragon anti-tank missile in US service.
It uses automatic infrared guidance that allows the user to seek cover immediately after launch, as opposed to wire-guided systems, like the Dragon, which requires the user to actively guide the weapon throughout the engagement.
