Rainy weather to last to end of week, weekend warmer and clearer
Rainy weather is forecast to continue on Wednesday, through to Friday, improving over the weekend, the State Weather Service (Riigi ilmateennistus) says.
Thickening cloud cover overnight to Wednesday morning has led to rain, and thunder in the east of the country, a situation which will continue through the day, though there will be clear spots too.
Temperatures are 13-18C, with a light breeze from the south and southeast, 2-8 m/s, with 12 m/s gusts.
Cloud will thin in the afternoon and with it the rain, though the wind will pick up, to 5-11 m/s, with 16 m/s gusts. It will have warmed up by then too, from 17C in the islands and west to 22C in the southeast.
In the evening it will stay warm – around 20C – with less cloud and sporadic showers.
Thursday will see a similar picture, the first half of the day rainy and with some thunder, clearing up in the second half. Friday will also be rainy in many places, and cooler, at 17-18C as July ends.
The weekend, however, will see things warm up again and the rain clouds largely dissipate, with daily peaks of around 25C forecast (see picture below).
