Viljandi entrepreneur sells furniture firm to Lithuanian company
Viljandi County entrepreneur Illimar Toom has sold Dreamland Home, a retailer and wholesaler of bedroom products, to Lithuanian company Lonas Ltd.
Toom didn't comment on the sale of the company in detail, but noted that nothing in life was forever and so one shouldn't get caught in one thing, local daily Sakala writes (link in Estonian).
The sale of Dreamland equates to selling Toom Tekstiil, Toom's concern, largely because almost half of Dreamland's retail goods were manufactured by Toom Tekstiil, making it right to sell Dreamland as well, he said.
The Lithuanian company, Lonas, which bought Dreamland, told financial newspaper Äripäev that it intends to open more showrooms in Estonia, adding that it differs from its competitors by offering a complex service: In addition to manufacturing, the company takes the bed home to the customer and assembles it, Lonas says.
Illimar Toom says he does not know exactly what plans Lonas has with the current employees at Dreamland Home, because he doesn't know the buyer's business plan so precisely that he would venture to speculate, though the Dreamland Viljandi outlet may well close, since the board decided as much before selling it to the Lithuanians.
