Tallinn creates new commission to make traffic safer
Tallinn City Government will form a standing traffic committee to be chaired by the mayor which will city unite institutions and look at how to make traffic safer.
The aim of the commission is to implement a traffic safety strategy in Tallinn and to create a safe and uniform traffic environment. It will meet three times a year.
The tasks of the commission are to monitor the traffic safety situation, make proposals for making traffic in Tallinn safer, plan mobility and organize the implementation of the national traffic safety program.
The work of the 10-member commission will be chaired by Mayor Mihhail Kõlvart (Center).
In addition, the commission consists of the deputy mayor for transport, the head of the Transport Agency, the head of the Environment and Utilities Agency, the head of the Town Planning Board, the head of the municipal police and the chief traffic officer of the Transport Agency.
Representatives from the PPA, Road Administration and Tallinn University will also take part.
