Estonian Teams Wins 7-0, Qualifies for Next Round
Levadia beat La Fiorita of San Marino 7-0 in Tallinn in the first qualifying round for the Champions League. The first leg, held in San Marino, ended in a 1-0 win for Levadia. The Estonian squad will face Sparta Prague next on Tuesday in the Czech Republic.
The game itself was a reverse of the more famous game that night, which took place some 10,000 kilometers away. Levadia only scored twice in the first half through Aleksandr Kulinitš and Igor Subbotin, but poured it on after halftime.
Levadia had goals from Omar El Hussieny. Subbotin again, Artjom Artjunin twice and Toni Tipuric in the second half.
Levadia's head coach Marko Kristal said the gap in quality was very high, and his team could not turn that into goals in the first game. You can view the gallery of the game here.
The Europa League qualifiers return Thursday, with Finland's Honka playing against Sillamäe Kalev (first game 2-1 to Sillamäe), Kalju taking on Fram of Iceland (1-0 to Kalju) and Tromsö of Norway host Tartu Santos (7-0 to Tromsö).
