Suspects Released in Death of Estonian Model
Malaysian newspapers report that all seven suspects linked to the death of Regina Soosalu have been released on bail.
All seven suspects, aged 24-27, whom the local police took into custody after the Estonian model's body was discovered, were aquaintences of Soosalu. A relative of Soosalu told Postimees the local Malaysian police has not contacted the family, and they are in the dark as far as the investigation is going.
Soosalu's body was discovered July 1 on Pulau Rawa, an island off the east coast of Johor. She was initially thought to have drowned, but wounds were discovered on her body, and the police reclassified it as a homicide.
Soosalu’s boyfriend, Tunku Alang Reza, who Malaysian media report has connections to the royal family, was detained by police along with six others.
The representative of the local Malaysian police, Datuk Hasnan Hassan, has said to multiple Malaysian newspapers that the body was handed over to the family.
