Industrial Production Continued Upward Rise in August
The production of industrial enterprises in August rose 3 percent compared to August 2013, Statistics Estonia reports. Production increased in manufacturing but decreased in mining and energy sector.
Manufacturing has shown a stable 1-6 percent growth since the beginning of the year when compared to the same months last year. In August, industrial production exceeded the volume of August 2013 by 6 percent. The growth was largely influenced by the increase in the manufacture of electronic, wood and food products.
Manufactured goods accounted for 71 percent of sales on the external market; a 2 percent rise compared to August of last year.
At the same time, the production of electricity has decreased by 8 percent and the production of heat increased by 3 percent.
