This year's Wine Fair has a Greek flavor
The Estonian Sommelier Association is holding its 6th biannual Wine Fair on February 12-13 in Tallinn. This year, the biggest wine event in Estonia, which draws together wine lovers from all over the country, will focus on Greek wines.
The wine fair will feature over 300 varieties of Greek wine, some dating back to Antiquity, and some winners of numerous awards in international competitions. A special stand will gather four leading wineries, which have, over the last few years, helped to establish Greece's reputation as a serious wine producer.
The fair will also have three masterclasses, organized in cooperation with the National Inter-Professional organization of Vine and Wine of Greece, which will offer both the professionals and the public a fascinating journey through Greek wine regions (from Macedonia region to Crete, passing by Nemea region to Santorini Island) and indigenous varieties, allowing them to taste 24 wines from eight Greek producers. Moreover, the guests will also have the opportunity to discover Tsipouro, produced by the distillation of grape marc, an authentic Greek product closely interwoven with the Greek lifestyle, hospitality and entertainment.
The fair will also feature many other producers from different countries. It aims to introduce the various alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and gourmet food in Estonia.
The fair will take place in Sokos Hotel Viru and opens for the general public at 17:00 on February 12.
