Parliament wraps up last session before March 1 elections
Parliament has finished its last sitting before the new set of MPs take their seats next month.
During the past four years, Parliament passed 623 pieces of legislation, including 477 acts, 143 decisions and three declarations.
Parliament convened for 480 sittings, including five emergency sittings, totaling 1,345 hours.
Speaker Eiki Nestor (Social Democrats) said the last bill passed by Parliament was symbolic as it was a collective request. The last bill requires all new changes in tax laws, if possible, to have at least a six-month notice period from the time of proclamation to take effect.
