Estonian president to become adviser to World Bank president
Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves is to become adviser to World Bank President Jim Yong Kim, the daily Eesti Päevaleht reports.
"I have given my permission to join the group of advisers to the World Bank president," Ilves sain on Tuesday at the presentation of the World Bank publication "Digital Dividends".
"Digital Dividends" is a major project of the World Bank which investigates how to reduce poverty by guaranteeing a national identity to poor people and therefore help reaching them. For the project a group of advisers will be formed and Ilves has been asked to join it, spokespeople for the head of state said.
