Estonian ticket system to be adopted on buses across Europe ({{commentsTotal}})

French transport company Transdev chose Estonian company Tsolutions, creator of the Tpilet ticket system in use on Estonian bus lines, as winner of the procurement for the development of their long-distance bus line ticketing system.

The "Tpilet" bus ticket system will be implemented on Transdev’s long-distance bus lines, which operate under the Eurolines and Isilines brands across France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, Germany, and the Czech Republic.

According to Andres Osula, director of Tsolutions and head of last year’s winning team in the national business idea competition “Ajujaht”, the long-term contract stipulates that their company will be responsible for both software development and implementation as well as its ongoing maintenance.

“All ticket sales on Transdev’s intercity buses will begin to go through the sales system being developed in Estonia,” Osula explained. “As a strategic partner we will also be responsible for the full life cycle of the entire system.”

In addition to Estonia, Tsolutions’ bus ticket system is already in use in Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Hungary, Austria, Russia, Belarus, Finland, Bulgaria, and Hong Kong as well.

While neither side would comment on the value of the deal reached, the large-scale deal struck with Transdev will reportedly allow for Tsolutions, which currently employs 25 people, to grow quickly as well as significantly increase exports of their e-solution.

The Estonian-developed software platform is slated to be implemented by Transdev by spring 2017.
