Tallinn residents to continue to ride train for free within city limits
The City of Tallinn and state-owned passenger train operator Elron have extended the agreement whereby registered residents of Tallinn can ride Elron trains for free within the capital’s city limits through the end of 2017.
According to the newly-signed agreement, as of July 1, Tallinn residents will also be able to ride Elron’s express trains for free within city limits, extending their free ride opportunities between Baltic Station and the stop in Ülemiste by a total of another eight departures per day.
Those who wish to ride for free must be able to produce a personalized Public Transport Card and photo ID.
Tallinn residents traveling by train outside of Tallinn but within a zoned area will receive a discount fare equaling the total number of zones traveled minus one, the difference for which will be paid for by the City of Tallinn. This discount will not be applicable on Elron’s express trains.
