Health Board: 275 hospitalized patients, 588 new cases, 3 deaths
There are 275 patients being treated for coronavirus in Estonia's hospitals on Wednesday, the Health Board (Terviseamet) said. Three people died during the last day and 588 new cases were confirmed.
Of those in hospital, 225 people have a serious case of coronavirus and 170 patients - 75.5 percent - have not been vaccinated. Nineteen new cases were opened during the last day.
Three people infected with coronavirus died, they were aged 74, 80 and 90.
In total, 6,504 tests were analyzed and 588 were positive. This gives a positive share of 9.5 percent. Of these, 373 people were unvaccinated.
The 14-day infection rate is 653.13 per 100,000 people. The rate was 685.7 yesterday.
On Tuesday, 737 received the first dose of a vaccine and 6,243 were administered in total. The coverage rate of the whole population is 59.3 percent.
How can the spread of coronavirus be stopped?
- Keep your distance in public places.
- Wear a mask in crowded places.
- Wash your hands frequently with soap and warm water.
- Cover your mouth and nose when you sneeze or cough.
- If you develop symptoms stay at home and contact a family doctor.
- You can also get vaccinated against coronavirus.
