Six Finnair flights canceled due to strike Friday
According to the homepage of Finnish carrier Finnair, Friday's strike at Helsinki Airport will affect six flights on the Helsinki-Tallinn route.
Three flights scheduled to depart from Tallinn on Friday afternoon, at 2:45, 5:25 and 7:30 p.m., as well as the 2:20, 5:00 and 7:05 p.m. flights from Helsinki to Tallinn have already been canceled ahead of a strike planned for Friday.
Passengers who have a reservation for a Finnair flight on March 10 or for other possible strike days, March 14 and March 17, can reschedule their travel date until April 2, Finnair announced. They may also apply for a refund for a canceled flight and purchased ancillary services.
The strike of the Finnish aviation union IAU is planned for 3-7 p.m. on Friday. During the strike, ground services at Helsinki Airport will not be available or will be very limited.
The strike is related to a dispute between IAU and the service sector employer union Palta over labor agreements in Airpro Oy. Finnair is not a party to the labor dispute.
