April EU inflation highest in Estonia
The highest annual inflation rate in April in the EU was recorded in Estonia, where inflation hit 3.6 percent.
Compared to March 2017, annual inflation fell in six member states, remained stable in three and rose in nineteen member states, figures from Eurostat show.
The highest annual rates in April were 3.6 percent in Estonia, 3.5 percent in Lithuania and 3.3 percent in Latvia.
Meanwhile, the lowest annual rates were 0.6 percent in Romania, 0.7 percent in Ireland and 0.8 percent in Slovakia.
The annual inflation in the euro area in April accelerated to 1.9 percent, up from 1.5 percent in March 2017. Annual inflation in the EU was 2 percent in April, up from 1.6 percent in March 2017.
