Lithuania's Eurovision Entry 'Worst Ever Made'
On April 26, the host of ETV's evening talk show, experienced Eurovision-watcher Marko Reikop, had no second thoughts about drubbing the entry chosen by Estonia's Baltic neighbor.
Reikop had choice words for Evelina Sashenko's syrupy ballad "C'est Ma Vie," which Lithuania tapped as its entry in late February after several rounds of jury and televoting.
Interviewing former editor-in-chief of Eesti Ekspress weekly on his top five picks from this year's Eurovision entries, Reikop remarked that he had also listened to all the entries himself and that he considered Lithuania's the worst Eurovision song ever made.
"It's a horrible song, I've never listened to anything that bad in my whole life," he said. "But this is just my personal opinion," Reikop said, while his guest refrained from joining him in blasting the song.
"C'est La Vie" is set to compete in Eurovision's first semi-final round at the Esprit Arena in Düsseldorf on May 10.
Lithuania's most successful entry, LT United's comical track "We are the Winners," came in sixth place in the 2006 final.
