Number of new companies registered in Estonia in first half of 2016 up 5%
During the first six months of 2016, a total of over 10,000 new companies were registered in Estonia. The number of companies to go bankrupt during the same period, however, has also increased.
During the first six months of the year, a total of 10,155 new companies were founded in Estonia, 5 percent more than during the same period last year, figures available from the Center of Registers and Information Systems show.
At the same time, the number of companies to go bankrupt is almost 20 percent greater than a year earlier as well. In January-June 2015, a total of 80 businesses went under, but this year 100 bankruptcies were registered during the same period.
