President appoints Tarmo Tamm Minister of Rural Affairs
Tarmo Tamm (Center) follows fellow party member Martin Repinski, who resigned last week after just 13 days in office following several issues concerning his business and also his person.
On Friday evening Prime Minister Jüri Ratas (Center) handed President Kaljulaid the letter of resignation of Minister of Rural Affairs Martin Repinski. On the same occasion, Ratas asked the president to appoint Tarmo Tamm as Repinski's replacement.
President Kaljulaid wrote on social media that she appointed chairman of the Center Party's parliamentary group, Tarmo Tamm, Minister of Rural affairs following the proposal of the prime minister.
Since Repinski has resigned, but Tamm hasn't given his oath of office yet, Minister of Public Administration Mihhail Korb is in charge of the Ministry of Rural Affairs ad interim.
