Marina Kaljurand's campaign manager Andreas Kaju confirmed on Monday that Kaljurand, who has taken some time off at her summer house in order to mull things over, will not be nominating herself for president again preceding next week's presidential elections in the Riigikogu.

According to Kaju, Kaljurand set off for her Estonian summer house, after which she plans to take a vacation abroad.

"She is planning on resting primarily, and then quietly considering what to do next," Kaju told ERR's online news portal.

According to her campaign manager, Kaljurand has ruled out the possibility of announcing her own candidacy once more in the upcoming elections. "I definitely do not plan on nominating myself," said Kaljurand. "This is a process which is currently entirely within the hands of the chairmen of the boards."

Whether Kaljurand intends on continuing her diplomatic career following her vacation likewise remains uclear. "Everything is possible, everything is undecided; it is too early to discuss this," confirmed Kaju.

Marina Kaljurand dropped out of the competition in Saturday's presidential elections in the electoral college following the first round, in which she had earned 75 votes, coming in fourth among a total of five candidates.
