The government announced additional border checks from August 31 to September 4 ahead of the trip.
The fact that border formalities were due to be reinstated was announced a few days earlier, with the government now publishing the exact dates.
The heightened security measures will affect ports, airports and border controls will be restored along Estonia's southern border with Latvia. The measure means crossing the border between the two EU nations is only permitted through border check points.
Obama will be in Tallinn on September 3, and will meet besides President Toomas Hendrik Ilves also counterparts from Latvia, Lithuania and Poland. The meeting between the heads of state will be on the eve of a NATO summit to be held in Wales September 4-5.
