An Amur leopard named Darla gave birth to three cubs in the early hours of April 13 at the Tallinn Zoo.

The occasion marks the fourth litter for Darla, a member of one of the rarest cat species in the world, who first gave birth in 2007. She produced her previous offspring on April 14, 2011.

The Amur leopard, classified as critically endangered since 1996 by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, is well adapted to the cold mountain habitats of Russia's Far East regions. Currently, there are around 40 Amur leopards left in the wild, the zoo said in a statement.

Darla was born on April 16, 2004 at the Berlin Zoo and was brought to Tallinn a year later.

The leopards' domestic life can ve followed in real time via the zoo's webcam.
