Statistics Estonia has not extended terms for submission of annual data
Enterprises must submit annual reports to Statistics Estonia by the end of June, the agency has said, despite the government extending its deadline until October 31. Statistics Estonia has suspended penalties until August 1.
The Director General of the Board Mart Mägi said the request of Statistics Estonia is not guided so much by law as by the need to collect information.
"The emergency situation which took place this spring showed how important it is to have timely and relevant information so that important decisions can be made quickly. With reports correctly submitted by the end of June, we all contribute to our society's ability to act adequately and decisively," said Mägi.
Questionnaires also need to be submitted.
"The deadlines for submitting questionnaires is at the beginning of July. We will send automatic reminders to the respondents five days in advance. A day earlier, we will remind you that the submission is pending," Mägi added.
The data provided by companies help to get an overview of the current state of the Estonian state, among other things, the situation of the economy and GDP, on the basis of which the ministries make decisions.
"Given the importance of this data in making nationally important decisions, it is not possible to postpone the deadlines for statistical questionnaires related to annual reports. Therefore, they are collected as before. Due to the special situation, we suspended the penalty until 1 August," he said.
