Thursday's football international between Estonia and Latvia will go ahead with up to 1,000 people in attendance, one day ahead of an easing of restrictions which would have permitted that figure in any case. Sex abuse football coach hit with FIFA international ban

20.05.21 NEWS ... Football's international governing body FIFA has slapped a ban on a Brazilian national who had been active as a coach in Estonia for many years. The coach, Getulio Aurelio Fredo, is being investigated over sexual abuse allegations which first emerged in the Estonian media in March.

Wrestler released from temporary competition ban

19.05.21 SPORTS ... On Tuesday, the Estonian Olympic Committee (EOK) revoked the temporary ban imposed on wrestler Heiki Nabi after the wrestler tested positive letrozole, a performance-enhancing drug, in February.

The game was moved as a result of coronavirus considerations and gap between Estonia's domestic restrictions at the time, and UEFA's world cup qualifier attendance figures minimum requirements.

Wrestler seeking swift resolution on doping charges

18.05.21 SPORTS ... Wrestler Heiki Nabi has requested an expedited public procedure in a doping case involving him and which came to light in February, and has expressed a wish to get the matter resolved before the summer olympics in Tokyo.
