It is possible from now on to send parcels from Smartpost parcel stations in Estonia also to Latvia and Lithuania.
"Since parcel exchange between Estonia and Finland has proven itself well, we will expand our operation also towards our southern neighbors," said Rauno Parras, head of parcel operations at Itella Estonia OÜ.
In addition, it is possible now to also send parcels, not only pick them up, at the white parcel stations of Smartpost.
The parcel stations introduced last fall come without a central console, with each locker having their own lock and PIN keyboard.
"This means that many people can pick up their parcel at the parcel station simultaneously without having to queue up at the console," Parras said.
In order to reduce the amount of time necessary for sending a parcel, the data for sending a parcel via a white parcel station can be entered only via the self-service environment.
