Gallery: Candles lit across Estonia in honor of March 1949 deportations

March 25 marked the 68th anniversary of the March 1949 deportations of over 90,000 people from the Baltics. Estonians across the country paid tribute to the victims with ceremonies, services and tens of thousands of candles.
The March deportations, officially known as "Operation Priboi," included over 20,000 victims in Estonia and over 90,000 victims in all across all three Baltic countries.
Towns and cities across the country held ceremonies and lit candles in memory of the victims, with larger candle-lighting events taking place in Tallinn, Tartu, Pärnu and Narva.
Tens of thousands of candles were lit across the country on Saturday evening.
