State approves implementation plan for national defense development plan ({{commentsTotal}})

The Estonian government on Thursday approved the implementation plan of the "National defense development plan 2017-2026" for the years 2018-2021.

Drawing up the implementation plan of the national defense development plan was based on the fundamental document of the national defense development plan and the broad notion of national defense.

Areas of activity of national defense include the continuity of state and society, international activity, strategic communication, internal security, the civilian sector's support of military defense and military defense. The areas mentioned were also the basis for drawing up the implementation plan.

By realizing the implementation plan, Estonia's independent defense capability and the resistance of government institutions for crises will be increased. In addition, the rapid reaction capabilities of internaly security units, the state's strategic situational awareness, the security of Estonia's foreign representations and the state's strategic communication will be developed.
