EU High Representative/Vice-President Federica Mogherini, UK Minister for Europe, and several foreign ministers have all called for the release of Estonian security officer, Eston Kohver, following sentencing in Russia. Kohver has been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment in Russia following his abduction from Estonian territory by Russian Security Services and almost a year in illegal detention.

The abduction of Eston Kohver on the territory of the Republic of Estonia by FSB on 5 September 2014, and the illegal detention that followed in the Russian Federation, has been illegitimate since the beginning, Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas said in a statement on Eston Kohver's verdict. "It has been a clear and grave violation of international law by the Russian Federation."


19.08.15 OLD ... Eston Kohver, an employee of the Estonian Internal Security Service, was sentenced to 15 years in prison in Pskov court today. Kohver was abducted from the Estonian border a little less than a year ago, on September 5, and charged with espionage.

Enn Eesmaa worked at ETV as a news anchor and later editor-in-chief of its main evening news, Aktuaalne Kaamera (AK). Malaysia Airlines MH17: One year on, video footage of Russian-backed rebels emerge
